New Year's Resolutions

Anybody have any they want to share?

My goal is to be able to retire. I'd like to buy a compound on the outskirts of a small town, preferably not in Maryland, so I can brag that I pay no taxes. But, just so I can consider it my right to bitch about the happenings in Salisbury, I want to buy a piece of property there and not pay taxes there either. I want to be able to complain about the water that the mayor buys, but I don't want to pay for water myself.

I'd like to invest in a big ass camera with so many buttons I won't know what to do with them. And just so I won't have to read my owner's manual, I think I'll invest in a friend to tell me how to use it. The camera will be a necessity to tell my story with pictures, because I really can't write worth a damn.

I will also add on to my new compound and install my own humidor full of cigars. I really don't want to stray far from my monster computer to go to the store and buy one. But in the event that I have to leave my house to get my newspaper or chase a fire, my goal is also to be able to choose from the many vehicles I will purchase this year.

I want to hire a team of lawyers to take care of defending me against my slanderous writings and stalking charges. Of course, they will also have to be able to take care of me when I press charges against anyone who wants to venture past my "no trespassing" sign.

I'd like to become the mayor, police chief and fire chief because Lord knows I can do their job better than they can. Oh, wait, I can't do that as I don't have a diploma. Maybe, I can buy a diploma? Yeah, that's it, I'll buy a diploma because I don't want to have to actually work for one.

Last, but not least, I'd like to find a woman who will allow me to leave the house whenever I want, even if it means abandoning them on Christmas Day to chase a fire that I hear about on my brand new scanner. Oh, never mind, I don't need the scanner. I just happen to come across most of these emergencies on my own.

The Truth?

I'm glad no one bet against me last night and now you are too late. Two new posts regarding the SFD hit Joe's "news" blog this morning.

"They also claimed that the boat sunk because of heavy rains. NOT! It did NOT rain heavy enough to sink a boat the other night, it's all bullshit. It didn't rain enough to sink a boat? Maybe things were all sunshine and love at the Albero compound, but from where I was, it sure as hell rained enough. My ditches and part of my yard are still full of water. So, what is the REAL TRUTH, Joe? And, how do you know what the REAL truth is? I know, I know, "I was there and you were not." Camped out by the dock in the sunshine watching the boat sink?

By the way, does everyone remember when The Sheriff's Department gave out Christmas toys? Joe had this to say: "On a personal note, I want to thank the WCSO for their invitation to this special event. He was tickled to death that everyone in the world would get to see what a great thing was happening. Yet, when the SFD allegedly invited the same, they were in major "damage control" and only doing it to get publicity. He actually said he was disppointed to see those people there. See what a difference it makes who is inviting the media?

I Appreciate the Compliment, BUT...

5:59 poster...This is a very true statemnet! Ive have tried on many different topics to post clean replies that were not in Joe's favor and they never made it to the site. He rejects hundreds of post a day. This gives the uninformed public that everyone that does reply agrees with Joe.Straight Shooter does the best job ive scene of telling both sides of the story and bringing Joe's lies to light.

I appreciate this comment. However, if I don't know both sides of the story, I can't post it. I don't have the time or resources to give any news story real justice. If one has a news blog, that is what needs to happen. Joe, a self proclaimed retired multi-millionaire, does have those resources. Unfortunately, he takes one bit of information and runs like hell with it. Whether the statement is true is of no consequence. The unfortunate thing is that while people's lives are being turned upside down by what he posts and by what comments he allows, he is sitting back laughing at all of you. He has turned Salisbury into a laughing stock. I'll admit that the administration is not without fault, but how can one truly run an effective government or organization when they are looking over their shoulder 24/7 to see if Joe is hanging about with a camera? I mean, is a picture of Barrie Tilghman in shorts and a sweatshirt news? Was the picture taken with the intention of making the government better? No. It was an attempt to embarrass an individual. Meaningless and frivolous. But great for off the wall comments which is the true basis for Mr. Albero's blog. He truly believes that he is the greatest thing Salisbury has ever seen. While it is perhaps true that Mr. Albero has exposed some corruption within the city, those stories are few and far between and even then there is always a second side. He is so proud that his stories hit the blog days before they are seen in the Daily Times. Perhaps that is because the DT actually INVESTIGATES. It is not necessarily a race to see who can report something first, but who can report it best. That is not me...and it is most certainly not Joe Albero.

Again, my mission is not to report the news, but to poke holes in the "news" that Joe thinks he is reporting. My goal is that people will see that he is not truthful and will eventually begin to investigate for themselves. Salisbury News is nothing more than a site for entertainment, the sooner people see that the better.

Pushing the Buttons

Joe's friend Steve helped him fix his camera! "With the push of a few buttons he had my pictures as sharp as the day I received the camera. As a matter of fact, it encouraged me to play with it myself and get the time and date straightened out on both of my cameras and now I'm good to go."

Maybe now he'll be able to keep up with WB? Nahhh. LOL

Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament

Joe's post regarding the basketball tournament didn't expand on much. But, I guess for someone who doesn't read the local sports pages (because he's too smart), how would he know? The Lions Club Holiday Classic was started at Wicomico High School in 1989 by Butch Waller to help alleviate the "down time" for teams over the holiday break. The tournament has grown in the last 18 years. This year there are 24 teams participating with one coming from as far away as New York. The Daily Times reports that "proceeds are donated to participating schools' athletic departments and other community initiatives. Wicomico County benefits to the tune of around $100,000 each year in tourism dollars."

So, as you can see, it is not just a way to spend a rainy afternoon, it is also a way to support the athletic departments of those schools as well as the community.

A Midget Redneck!

I just read this. I'm not sure how I missed it. This was Joe responding to a comment on his trashy car seat post. "Let me guess? You'r 4'7" tall. Drive a 4x4 pu truck, jacked up and you're stuck in the Fire Department tonight with nothing better to do?" Haha. I thought to myself "self, that's a pretty funny comment someone wrote about Joe". THEN, I reread where it said "stuck in the fire department" and knew it couldn't be about Joe because he's too scared to show up at a firehouse. Joe was actually saying this about someone else!! 4' 7" and drives a 4x4 pickup. He's so stupid that he doesn't realize one shouldn't describe themselves when trying to poke fun at another. LOL.

P.S. I hope no one takes offense with my headline as there is nothing wrong with being either. Oh, and I guess to be politically correct I should have said "little person". Sorry.

Joe's Dad

Several of you have alluded to the fact that the karma guy is Joe. Karma guy said his father is dead. The peeps were thinking that he carved wood and was on the front page of the DT.

This brought me to the realization that Joe has never mentioned his father since. In fact, I don't recall his mention before. I heard what a great Christmas celebration he had with his in-laws and steps, but no mention of any sort of celebration with his father. Why is that? Has he, over the years, alienated his own father as he has so many others? Or was the man from the DT even his father? The question has been asked before and no answers have been given. And we all KNOW, he's seen the speculation. Wonder what that's all about?

Since Joe isn't posting anything of major interest (nothing interesting enough to pick apart, anyway), I'd like to take a few moments to thank everyone for their support. As I said in the beginning, my initial goal was not to be an anti-Albero blog. It was to be a forum where people could say how they felt, in the way they felt like saying it. Obviously, since Joe Albero comes up with such controversial "news" stories and is notorious for not allowing comments to support each side of the story, most of what is here does pertain to him and his "news" stories aka half-truths". I've only been around for one month and it that time, Mr. Albero has called me an asshole, a pussy whipped pansy, and an F/N prick. I have even been invited to involve myself in a physical altercation: "I'll meet you right now, wherever you want. Let's get it on! " I am assuming "let's get in on" in this context means fight and not screw. So, now it seems I have become an anti-Albero blog (or Pro-Maryland as my teammates suggested we call ourselves). I have done this of my own volition (look that word up Joe, it's in the dictionary). It is obvious after the name calling and physical threats that I had no other road to follow.

The sad part of it all, is that if Joe really cared about the citizens and taxpayers of Salisbury, he would present you with both sides of the stories he writes. Anyone who continues to read his posts and truly thinks that he is telling you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is as sad of a case as he is. As has been suggested, do yourselves a favor and look into the issues yourselves. Become informed. Don't rely on Joe's posts to give you everything you need to form educated opinions. What Joe does is regurgitate information he gets from other uninformed people, or those that have a beef themselves. He is a "news blog" one moment and an "opinionated blog" the next. Unfortunately, one can't be both. Even editorials will present both sides of an issue and then tell you what they personally think about it. Not so with Salisbury News.

I have received props from several of you and I appreciate it very much. I will continue to do what I can to prove that the public is being lied to. Unfortunately, even if there is a remote piece of truth in what he writes, Albero has lied about so much already, he can not and should not be trusted. His main goal is hits and comments. He has told us that time and time again. What other fool says " Self, I wonder how many people have visited my Site on Christmas morning?". Most of us were spending time with our families on Christmas. Joe was reporting his hit count, posting pictures of an empty table and chasing fires. That's a family man for you!

Anyway, thanks for listening to my ramblings. I'm here and it appears the Pro-Maryland bloggers are getting stronger every day. Wow, Joe wrote two posts about fires and they received an overwhelming 11 comments between the two. WOW!! I guess it didn't work this time. His last post about a fire got him 81. Of course most of them were Gerity, some chick named Fruitland Angel (hope it's a chick anyway, or we got problems) and Gerity's wife....oh and Joe. LOL. So, it appears we are making a move in the right direction. Must be very disappointing for Joe that the only other person to find delight in the Barrall house fire was the karma guy/girl. Of course there has been speculation that this is another one of Joe's "personalities". I wonder how many more he has stashed away?

Mr. Do-Gooder

Joe posted today about a woman emptying the trash from a carseat all over the parking lot. Someone asked what the big deal was. Joe answers "Funy! A Black Man spits in this exact same parking lot and spent a ton of time in jail after being arested for doing so."

Now, I remember distinctly being told that his posts would be slow one morning because he was to appear in court as a witness. Joe claimed that all the dude did was spit on the sidewalk and he in no way resisted arrest. Salisbury News and Views ripped him a new one with his post. Seems that when Joe first posted that story 11 months ago, things were a little different. It's funny that we never heard any more about that incident after Joe appeared in court. Or did he appear in court? Anyway, I hardly think that anyone could be put in jail for nearly a year for spitting. That is ludicrous. Who in the hell would believe that shit besides the faithful followers?

Anyway, I'd like to know why Mr. Do-Gooder didn't say something to the woman. He's all about smashing someone's face in if he hears the "N" word and he can physically threaten someone he doesn't even freaking know, but he can't politely tell a woman to please help keep our city clean? What a crock of shit.

Delmar Fire

Joe wasted no time in letting the world know the fire in Delmar was at the Wayne Barrall Sr. residence. Why does it matter who owned the house? And who in the hell would call you and ask you to check out a fire? Unless it's somebody as nosy as you are. That shit doesn't even make sense. Admit it Joe, you heard it on your scanner and raced like hell to take pictures.

Where is the sympathy you showed to the homeowners on E East St? You don't have any because this homeowner's son happens to be on your shit list. Classy Joe, real classy.

Regarding the "After the Fire Program", one of Joe's commenters asked this question:

"Just curious. Why does it appear that your pictures are taken from a great distance away? Did the crews not allow you to participate?"

Joe responded with: "I have always respectfully kept my distance. Read the story again as I was standing right there with them asking them if they needed any help and or if they wanted me to carry anything for them."

I can't be certain from Joe's answer whether he was repectfully keeping a distance, or right there. I think, however, this picture tells the tale. He looks kinda like the kid left out on the playground. Scared to death of the big bad firemen. LOL

Joe says: The City of Salisbury Audit is still NOT complete. I don't understand why this Mayor would flat out lie to the entire community and I also don't understand why The Tilghman Times isn't on top of this like true professionals?

Exactly why is this breaking news? Breaking news would be "the audit is complete". Was he so hard up for a headline that he changed the definition of "breaking news"?

Joe's SFD Gift

It's been commented on, but I thought I would repeat it. It looks like the SFD chose THE perfect gift for Joe. He got to use his handy dandy pager for the first time on Christmas night! After all, he doesn't use a scanner to find fires, right? Someone from the "inside" must have called him. Wonder who that could be? I have been working out Joe's Christmas Day timeline and though it is not IMPOSSIBLE that Joe just happened upon the fire, it is highly IMPROBABLE. And, I'd like the answer to the question someone asked. What does his family think when he leaves them on Christmas Day to chase a fire? Oh, that's rhetorical...no need for replies. LOL

Good to see Brotherhood 16 (Gerity) did make peace with Joe and didn't try to start that boxing match he wanted. Maybe they became friends since everyone always picked on them. I wonder how Joe knew who he was? Joe had his name but not the Fruitland Police officer's name, why? I've heard many sides to this event from people there and I won't say Gerity was right or wrong, but question Joe's info gathering. What was Joe doing in Fruitland and how did he arrive before the fire departments? Maybe his reporters kit we got him really does work, because Joe doesn't listen to the scanner he said. Did any one see him use his new camera and press pass, too?

I am confused. Maybe someone could help me out.
Joe's original post leads us to believe that a couple reported this Fruitland Fire incident to him.

He says: "The interesting part, (so I'm told) was that Station 16 from Salisbury arrived at the same time Fruitland did."

But then, he says: "I was there, it wasn't a raging fire, (like you want to make it sound) and my lungs were hurting just by burning boxes in a controlled fire yesterday, so quit your bellyaching."

So, which is it? Was he there or was he not?

Fruitland Fire

Joe reports a fire in Fruitland today: "Fortunately there was no one home and the Fruitland Police, (5) arrived on the scene while an Off Duty Salisbury Fire Fighter, (John Gerity) heard the call over his pager and happened to be running to a store close by the get some milk. One of the Fruitland Police Officers and John broke through the front door and were actually able to put out the fire with Fire Extinguishers BEFORE the Fruitland Fire Department arrived."

If what Joe reported was true, the OFF DUTY firefighter from Salisbury extinguished the fire before any other department arrived. In other words, it is a good thing Gerity was at the right place, at the right time AND chose to go help instead of going home. Wow, and here I thought all firefighters were selfish, greedy and thoughtless. Bet that homeowner doesn't think so.

Why, this is what I did. I copied, said I copied and gave credit. I guess it is legal because he only copied the heading instead of the entire body. Hmmm. OK. And, Duvall has a problem posting comments? And Joe is going to give an open line of communication? Good Lord, I offered to do that on my site and you'd thought the world was going to freaking end. This is all a joke, right?

Shhh...It's a Surprise!

I had a very interesting conversation with Santa the other night. He told me that he felt the resentment Mr. Albero harbours for the fire departments and their members is the direct result of never having gotten one of these shiny trucks under the tree as a kid. The big guy said that he really wanted to surprise Joe with this every Christmas morning for years, but every time he checked his list the second time, there was a big red line through his name. His helpers reported that Joe was very mean to people, even those that had once been his friends. He was a chronic complainer and the helpful things people tried to do was never enough. Sometimes, he would even think something up and go tell another group of friends just to get them fighting amongst themselves. "You see", said Santa, "even as a child, Joe was never happy unless he was making someone else miserable." I told Santa that I completely understood and that is was a shame there were people like that, who could find fault with everything others did. BUT, I guess with the years has come wisdom. Santa told me that this year, he was going to bring that shiny red truck to Joe's compound. He said that though things had not changed much with Joe, he felt that we can not let one person stop us from doing what is good and right, for if we did, this world would be full of Albero's. I shuddered at the thought. Joe, hopefully, you are not reading this as I don't want to spoil your surprise. But, if you are, enjoy the toy and know that I really do wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

**Just as a side note, I do believe that Santa must also be a firefighter. Who else wouldn't mind staying up all night, or working on Christmas leaving the Mrs. at home to tend to the elves? Who else tries to get things done all year for that one day when your family really needs him? Who else keeps returning time after time even though some people complain that he didn't do enough?

Although this comment was in reference to the SFD, it is not one that I must give credit to Salisbury News for. I think it deserves an open discussion. It is well written and informative. Perhaps we should ALL take the advice of this author and do our own investigating.

I wish someone could explain to me why it is that a select few are so determined not to support the volunteer fire service in their community. Not just Salisbury. It is not the City of Salisbury that is sending these donation letters to the general public it is the volunteer corporations of the City of Salisbury Fire Department. It is against the law for any municipality to solicit(sp?) for donations. The fact that you choose not to donate is your choice. However eventually the lack of funds the volunteer corporations have to work with will cause the city's equipment to eventually become outdated or in disrepair. The fire service will still respond to your emergency but lack of funding will cause down the road, problems for the fire department in general. See the PAID administration will then have to increase their yearly budget for equipment replacement because the corporations were unable to donate to the municipal side of the organization. As an example, Joe would lead you all to believe that the museum was an unnecessary expense and part of the 10 million dollar price tag. But if you bother to do your own investigation the money for this part of the structure was totally funded by the three corporations of the Salisbury Fire Department. I ask that, instead of relying on one man's say so do your own investigations and ask someone from the volunteer administrations just what they are "Giving" to the building fund. Be your own judge.Before anyone "ASSUMES" I am not Chief See, Deputy Chief Hoppes or Deputy Chief Gordy. I have no connections with the SFD. I do live in Salisbury however and am very close to what’s going on.I put this on Joe's site but am not sure if he will post it so that is why I'm putting it here.

I will not put Joe's latest SFD posts up for discussion. They are there to to get hits only AND it is highly unlikely that a firefighter posted the comments. Personally, I would not be surprised if it was Joe himself. I am under the impression that the firefighters do not WANT to post on his site anymore. In addition, they are not posting about Joe on their own forum either. That is why I was requested to quote him on my site, so they may intelligently discuss BOTH sides of whatever half assed story Joe has come up with. He is posting that garbage because he is pissed off that I have promised an open discussion for anyone who wishes to participate. WHOEVER posted the comments on Salisbury News is one sick SOB. Sorry guys/girls, no discussion available on those.

An Gift from the SFD!

To return Joe's Christmas kindness, the SFD all got together and chipped in for a new reporter's kit for him. Now he doesn't have to use his homemade press pass anymore! It also comes with a digital camera as I'm sure Joe's has got to be worn out by now. And, of course a beeper with which to receive important SFD information. A make believe kit for a make believe reporter!

For Those Wondering

I have not yet received a call from an attorney, the FBI, CIA, CSI, NCIS or the President of the United States. Nor, have I received a response from Blogger. If anyone IS trying to call, my cell phone is currently out of commission. As luck would have it, a fire fighter who was in a hurry for a controlled burn raced by me as I was standing in the station shooting the shit...I mean, what else do they do there? And just as it skidded across the newly polished floor, the damn truck...no, not the engine, the truck...ran the hell over it. I intend to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. I do however, think they are planning on getting together and buying me a new one. After all, that is their responsibility. The worst part, however, is that a well dressed family pulled up in their Navigator to get their FREE smoke detector and the child saw everything that happened. Now, he thinks all those men are very, very bad. Maybe Santa will go visit him in a fire ENGINE. Hopefully, the dad won't turn around and tell the world that Santa was so unprofessional he tore up his roof when he landed with too many reindeer. Why use 9 reindeer, when he only needs 5 to pull his ass around?

In any case, my e-mail works just fine. I know, as I had to sift through 35,000 comments today. No, really, numbers don't lie. Unfortunately, I had to reject 99% of them because I didn't want anyone to make me look bad. I did let one slide though so no one would get TOO suspicious.

Humane Society

A member of the Humane Society dropped Joe a comment. Within that comment was disapproval at Joe allowing comments which refer to sexuality there:

"Joe, in posting this crap along with unsubstantiated hearsay, anonymous tales and letting some of the inuendo you've let get through on sexuality you've done the humane society and the county a great disservice."

Uh oh, you've done it now! Joe is pissed off! "I VERY strongly disagree and you have now pissed me off."

He defends himself with this: "Don't you DARE make false statements that I have allowed such harsh comments because I most certainly did not. I am the ONLY one who sees those comments and they were deleted and thrown in the trash as I wanted nothing to do with them."

Joe is reporting yet another record day today:

False Accusations

Joe says that he hasn't been issued a ticket and wants us to "go here" to prove it to us. Ummm, that's great, but the "go here"proves nothing more that the fact that he is not on the Delaware State Wanted Person list. I would definitely agree with that, since no one in Delaware wants him. LOL.

I remember the impeding progress thing at the Delmar accident scene, but I can't recall him being accused by a member of the Delmar fire department. I also can't remember Wayne recanting the story that is WASN'T him. Anyway, please do not make false accusations regarding Joe to law enforcement. That must certainly be against the law and Joe does enough dumb shit on his own without being lied about. If you do see him driving erratically, please get the tag number, or better yet, snap 1,000 pictures with your zoom lens while driving 65 miles an hour to keep up with him. After all, you will be doing something good and may save lives. No matter that you are breaking the law as well. LOL.

Woe is Joe

He's finally had it!

"That's It, I've Had It! Today marks the very last day I'll take the long walk in the cold down my driveway to get my Newspaper and nothing is in the box."

Dan tries to reason with Joe: "It may be your delivery driver, and not necessairly the paper's fault. Besides, if you cancel the subscription, how will you keep up with their inadequacies?"

Yeah, he won't be able to show us little clippings of the grapevine section (without permission I'll bet), or let us know that they left something out of the editorial section? Woe is Joe. Besides, if he was that concerned about walking down the driveway in the cold, he could take one of his fifteen vehicles or, better yet, saddle up a horse.

Half Truth

Here's one of Joe's headlines from yesterday: "Wicomico County Sheriff's Department NAILS Home Invaders! "

One of Joe's commenters had this to say: "Joe could you give credit where credit is do. The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation solved this crime. It is made up of Detectives from the Sheriff's ofc. and State Troopers from the Salisbury Barrack"

Joe backs up his headline with: "First of all, I stated that I HOPED my information was accurate. Secondly, NO ONE has sent out a Press Release on this and I have yet to get a call from any agency referencing this matter."

Then what was his big hurry in getting the story up? Scared the DT was going to beat him to the punch? Oh yeah...he's not a news blog, he doesn't have to be accurate. As long as you HEARD about it there first, that's all that really matters. And why didn't he get info from Mike Lewis right away? I thought they had the bat phone thing going on.

Public Servants?

Granddad would like to know if the Salisbury Fire Department is doing anything for Angel and Cora, (two of the three victims that perished in the Washington Street fire) regarding donations for their funeral.

"Does the Salisbury Fire Department have anything going on right now as an effort to bring in any donations? I would think that since they were there and are as close to the situation as anyone can get, they would make some kind of effort. It may even be therapeutic for the firefighters in that they may get some closure out of helping them one last time."

How much do you expect these guys and girls to do? Sure, we call them public servants, but you are taking the term to an extreme don't you think?

Joe says: "Are you kidding me! The SFD wouldn't do sh!t unless the Press were there boosting their egos." Ok. Now does the press include Joe? Or was he a blogger when he wrote this comment?

And then: "If "I" am the cause for the SFD to get up off their asses and do something for this Family, I've done well. You see, they're not doing anything, NOTHING! Just going door to door asking people if they have smoke detectors. Their spot light is over and they have no interest in doing anything good for this Family, that's just reality."

Yeah, that's all those men and women do. They are expected to put the fire out, prevent loss of life and pay for loss of life. I think, just to prove themselves, they should fund a construction loan to rebuild the house with too.

LBuck set him straight: "Joe,Actually we are doing 'something' for the families,and thanks to you we found out (about Rite Aide)I had personally talked to 'Holloways' and they didn't have any info. on the Mom and child and I tried to contact a good friend and hadn't heard any reply yet."

Suddenly the WE in that statement means LBuck because "Lbuck is the BEST thing that ever happened to the SFD. God Bless you my Friend and if there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask."

Way to give credit where credit is due Joe.

Who Will Save Lives from Him?

Joe has a dear friend (imagine that) who patted him on the back and thanked him for saving lives.

"A dear friend of mine caled me today and said, "You know what Joe, you just saved lives." I have to agree and hopefully others do as well."

I am assuming Joe saved some unsuspecting citizen's from a speeding ambulance. Who then, will save them from Joe?

"At certain points, (because of the light at Nanticoke Road) I was able to get close to him and I certainly admit I wasn't doing the speed limit at the time but I was trying to get a tag # so I could do something about it."

In addition, I can guarantee the transport employees weren't wrestling with a digital camera at the same time.

JPH Got it Goin On

Joe received a very nice letter from Lifestar regarding his recent issues with them. The letter was apologetic and sincere and let Joe know that the issue was being handled. So, the followers pat Joe on the back, good job, blah, blah, blah. JPH saw right through that blather and came up with this:

What seems to be over looked here is that this incident would have gotten the same careful attention and results had Mr. Albero contacted the company directly. EXCEPT:Contacting the company directly would not have enabled Mr. Albero to public ally bash the company, or by not naming the specific company in his post attempt to implicate the SFD. Nor would it have given him more fodder for his Blog.

Way to go JPH! Another dissatisfied customer. ROTFLMAO!

He's a Blog Again!

Ok, Joe with his press badge and camera is not news anymore...now he's a blog again.

Why do you believe I should write articles that "everyone" would agree with? This is a Blog, not a Newspaper. It is my opinion of how I see things and I believe, (based on the number of hits and comments) that people think very similar to the way I see things and they can "relate."

"Based on the number of hits and comments". Exactly what I expected to hear. Hits and comments do not ultimately prove people agree with you. What happens to the comments that DON'T agree with Joe? They are shitcanned, that's what happens to them.

Holiday Plans?

Anyone have any holiday plans they want to share? I will not be going anywhere for Christmas. I'm sticking around here this year. I know many people like to go away to a warm tropical place. If this weather keeps up, we will be a warm tropical place. LOL. I hope to be getting together with friends and family. That's what it's all about. Totmom had a post regarding the commercialization of Christmas. It's too bad that is the way it is. So, if you are going away, or have any holiday traditions you care to tell us about, I'm all about it.

Am I a Thief?

While I am awaiting an answer, I thought I would ask this question. When a student writes papers and directly quotes from copyrighted material, they must write the direct quote within quotation marks and must cite the source of the information in the bibliography. Why is this so much different than writing a college paper? People write papers all the time which challenge the works of others. I can't imagine those authors gave permission for that to happen either. Just wondering....

My Mama always said if someone copies you they admire you. Won't you believe that Joe?

Oh, that's right, I'm sorry, they're hero's risking life and limb for YOU. Nah, that's BS anyway. Of course as soon as people started reading that statement the Citizens just started tearing up their donation envelopes.

Oh, and God Forbid I'm in need of an ambulance! I'll call Life Star first. At least I know I'll get there quick! Isn't that too funny though Folks. Perhaps there should be an outside Fire Service????????

I'll bet I could purchase land, build a building exactly like the one in Salisbury and spend less than $3,000,000.00 for it. Then I could buy Fire Trucks, HIRE a full Staff and COMPETE with the SFD and knock them on their asses in delivery time. That's what these guys need, competition! Oh, they'd be welcome to use the In House Computers to play on the Internet all they wanted, as long as the work got done first.

They could be paid on First Response Results and I could start out with a building location in the HOTTEST SPOTS around the City. Then we would see just how good a location the West Side was after all! Think about it like this. We'd simply ignore any calls to the West side of the City and leave them with the gravy there because we all know there's a TON of fires on the West side, right? NOT! I'd build a Station near Camden and another one on the North end of Town. Yeah, the Montgomery Wards Service Department would have been pretty darned good but I'd settle for something closer to the State Police.

I'm sorry Ladies & Gentlemen but IF there was some competition, I'd win hands down, no questions asked. Then all you'd see in the SFD is a bunch of guys hanging off the back and sides of Fire Trucks half dressed, lips and buck teeth flapping in the wind and many with masks already on because they'd be sucking up the exhaust fumes from the Albero Fire Station Trucks way ahead of them.

Has anyone ever heard if this has ever been done before? They're doing it with ambulances, why not Fire Departments? Now that's "Keepin It Real!"]"

SFD Open Discussions

I have had a request to quote posts on Salisbury News regarding the Salisbury Fire Department. It would appear some feel that there is a need for balanced discussion that they do not feel they are getting at Mr. Albero's site. I believe that I am able to quote from that site as long as I give credit where credit is due. And trust me on this...I will take NO credit for anything that comes from that site. If anyone has any information to the contrary, then please let me know. I intend to name them "SFD Open Discussions". As always, everyone's opinions are welcome. Obviously, I would like the discussion to be as clean as possible, but I realize some of the posts we will see can evoke some pretty serious emotions. In accordance with Blogger's terms of service, comments regarding the following will not be allowed: "material that promotes hatred toward groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity". As always, anonymous comments will be allowed. I realize many of you have reasons to remain that way. I believe that just because you don't want people to know who you are, doesn't mean you opinion counts any less than anyone else's. Be aware, that you can also give yourself a nickname without having to create a Blogger account. I would recommend doing this if you wish others to be able to follow multiple comments from you.

I too, had thought Mr. Barrall had been arrested. Others may know more than I in regard to this, so they may have something to add. Mr. Barrall was never handcuffed, nor was he read his rights. Are those normal procedure when someone is arrested? Gunpowder, you have discussed this before. Perhaps you could provide some insight?

So, JJ is "threatening" a commenter by supposed revealing their identity to the Sheriff! What law did the commenter break? Seems like a valid point to me - JJ can't have it both ways, either its OK to secure the lowest bid, or its not.

Temporary Lapse of Memory?

This comment was made by Joe in Joe's post regarding the humane society. Apparently there have been comments made regarding Lugo's alleged sexual preference. Here is what he had to say:

"I want to make this VERY CLEAR. Someone's sexual preference is none of anyone's business. IF anyone wastes their time writing a comment just as a dig, I'm rejecting it, unless it has to do with something you saw there at the Humane Society or it effected you personally."

Commendable Joe. Now, if only you would practice what you preach. Remember the Watch Desk thread? Do you think just because they pulled the thread, it would erase memories as well? This is what went on there:

Not picking on you Anon, just...as Joe would say it, "keeping it real". You are correct, you do have an opinion. Maybe others share that opinion. I'd like to hear from them. maybe I am way off base. It's been known to happen before.

Considering I have the right to my opinion as well, your article here is way off base. I saw it as a promotion for the fire department too. I just think some of you are afraid to face the truth and see things for what they are. The followers will believe anything their leaders tell them. Look back at history. I'm not saying the intentions of many weren't the best, they were. However, I believe the Chief was trying to get as much attention for the fire department as possible and it is always after a fire like the one on Washington St. that gains them the most attention.Ask any other professional in the field, that is the best time to stand out within the community. So in my opinion as well, it was a selfish act yet they used smoke detectors to attempt to look good."

I believe Chief See was certainly trying to gain attention, but not for "damage control". I fully believe that they were doing it to make the community aware. We have Fire Prevention for the kids in our schools. The Fire Department is doing this to make ALL residents aware. What possible personal gain and what motivation do they have to do this? It has nothing to do with any of the issues Joe has beat to death. It has to do with the fact that three people lost their lives in a fire because they may not have had an operable smoke alarm. The firefighters (and police officers) did everything they could to save those people. They are the ones who will NEVER, EVER forget that chilling scene. And if this act of generosity (and publicity) helps prevent another occurrence like that, then their goal has been met. Period. Only people Joe and his faithful followers would find fault in what the department did and how they did it. The rest of us appreciate it.

I Might Have Known

Un-freakin-believable. Joe, who is always bitching about no other media being available for community events, is now bitching because they were present at last night's "After the Fire" program. What the hell is this guy looking for? I'm guessing he's pissed because this time, he can't say "I come up with the story even though the DT has 200+ employees". He still finds the opportunity to try and put another inch on his pedestal in one of his comments: Make that 4 because I was there too and I'll get more coverage than any of them. That's right, my audience is now greater than most and that's the whole reason you're pulling together every source you can other than mine to cover your ass.

In order for the SFD to prove the fact that this was nothing more than than a media circus, he says this:

If it continues tonight, tomorrow night and several nights to follow, then I'll personally believe this was truly intended to help the citizens to better protect their Families. If it was a one knight stand, what a crock. If anyone out there gets a knock on their door this evening or the following, etc., please let me know because accountability is important here, saving lives is critical.

I beg to differ. Since when are smoke detectors in homes the RESPONSIBILITY of the fire department? Are we trying to say that the police departments should be responsible for installing breathalyzers in everyone's vehicle...just in case the driver drinks and drives? NO. That is the responsibility of the driver. The SFD was not only doing something nice for the citizen's of Salisbury, but also trying to inform the public about the importance of having working smoke detector's in their home. I'm sure that is why the media was invited. What happened on Washington Street was a very tragic thing. But it was not the fire department's fault. Joe speaks of accountability, where is the accountability of the homeowners and renters? EVERY fire department offers free smoke detectors. All people have to do are get off their butts and go get them. I'm sure if you call and need one installed they will do that too. But, to expect them to go door to door each and every night to prove that they want to truly protect the citizens is absolutely ludicrous. It is a nice thought, but a little...no make that a lot...unrealistic.

SFD

The SFD canvassed the area of Washington Street to give free smoke detectors to anyone who needed them. The firefighters were also available to install them if the residents needed them to. Despite what some seem to think, the firefighters do care about the citizens of Salisbury no matter what color or creed. Moderate? Or No Moderate?

After the comment regarding Ralph's Veggieland site and the way he moderates, I thought I would throw this out there.

Is my method ok? Or would you rather see no moderation at all. I have never rejected a comment unless requested to do so by the author. That has certainly come in handy on those occasions. Just wanted some thoughts.

Dial Up

Joe is so into himself, he even thinks The Daily Times needs to change to accomodate him. I used to have dial up too. Then I realized that the world was moving forth and I had to move with it. I understand that some areas are not been serviced by DSL and cable, however, that's not my problem, or your problem, or The Daily Times' problem. Complain to Comcast and Verizon DSL and see when they are going to expand their area.

You would think with their resources they would do something to make it easy for everyone but I guess they're depending on everyone having extremely fast, high speed Internet Access. Well, you can't fix something you're not aware of, so now they know. Your Website Sucks for Dial Up Users!

This was a comment. This must be what Joe was talking about. His BIG news, the screwups, the other accident. I think it pretty much sums up the fact that Joe is again...FULL OF SHIT!

We had two calls around the same time!We had a rescue first in which when the call came in about the fire on Washington street the rescue was on its way back from that call.The engine out at station 2 which is out of service was replaced with the reserve engine thats way we have that engine!We had all the equipment we needed.Now what when on the radio was nothing but firemen tring to find and search the house for more people.When you pull up onto a scene like the other night and people are being dragged out windows and you are being told there is more inside all hell breaks lose and you try everthing in your power to get inside and get them out.I due time Joe will come up with something to make us look bad but in the end when you need help the first people you are going to call is us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And that goes for you Joey!!!!!!!!

Oh, This is Good

Joe drives up and down Washington Street snapping photos like they are Christmas portraits and even takes a picture of someone else's residence declaring it a fire hazard:

"While visiting the horrific fire on Washington Street, I couldn't help but notice this fire hazard just a few doors down."

Then on the same day, he tells everyone else that the family asked people to not drive up and down the street looking at the house:

"People are being asked to please stop driving by the property, respectfully."

So what, because Joe has a homemade press badge, he gets to survey the scene and snap shots? Personally, I think it sucks that for someone so concerned over a father who may not know his child has perished, (I did not mention the names of those who perished as I knew there was a Father out there who is morning the death of his year old Daughter, "IF" he even knows yet?,) he's posted pictures, burnt belongings, and given quite a morbid description.

That's just his style I guess. A lady by the name of Beth Twilley who wasn't really Beth Twilley but allegedly Wayne Barrall warned him about doing just that. He didn't listen. Maybe the next knock on his door will be from the child's Dad.

It Suddenly Occurred to Me....

....That Joe said he never used a scanner.

Now, granted, he didn't say he didn't own one. He just said he never used it to go to a scene:

Again, I'll repeat, I have NEVER used a scanner to go to any scene. Many have asked me if I heard it over the scanner and truth be known, hasn't happened.

But obviously he does use it for his half assed reporting.

"Perhaps Chief See would like to plat the tape back of the audio being broadcasted over the scanners?????????"

Now, folks, do you honestly think that Joe owns a scanner but doesn't use it to chase fires and ambulances? Sure. I have been around a lot longer than I care to admit and I have never "happened" across as many accident scenes, fires and police stops as Joe has.

Financial Woes

Joe is publicizing Shanie's apparent financial trouble. Hate to say it, but I suspect you will be seeing a lot of those little public announcements. The economy is going straight to hell and many of us are one paycheck away from the same thing happening. I wonder if Joe would make such a big deal if one of his faithful followers was losing their home. As far as Joe's comment regarding unpaid child support:

It wasn't that long ago Councilman Gary Comegys was dealing with his own fair share of financial problems, including a bankruptcy and failure to pay child support.

Well now, I seem to recall seeing something regarding a child support issue where one of the Albero clan was the defendant. But, I'll let you check that out for yourselves.

Joe, Mr. Barrall has a website called "Fire in the Hole Photography." He takes pictures of fires and accident scenes from everywhere and has been doing so for a long time now. He also takes pictures of ceremonies, banquets, funerals, etc. Are you just now realizing this? And, what would be your point anyway?

I see it now...and I thought I was getting pretty good at spotting the Anon/Joe comments. SN&V caught it. LOL

Anon: Albero has only exposed the wrongs and you just don't like it because you're one of them. This blog is just as criminal as the public safety people mentioned above.

We don't have to leave. You say the Fire Department is attacking you, but you really have no idea for sure. P.S. One more time...now read this slowly...Joe Perdue asked the fire fighters to stay away from commenting about you on THEIR forum. He felt as though THEIR site should not be tainted by you, your name, or your foolishness. Neither YOU, nor Chief See had anything to do with the firefighters no longer acknowledging you and your filth on THEIR turf.

Sick and Tired

I am so sick and tired of people downing the fire department, police department or any other department that help keep your asses safe. Is it really that difficult to understand WHY most of the men and women feel about Joe the way that they do? You have one man telling everyone how mismanaged the departments are, how many mistakes the members make, how greedy they are, and how stupid they are. His faithful followers join in as if kissing his ass is supposed to help keep them safe. In my opinion, they're kissing the wrong ass. Joe will turn on them in a second. He finally says something nice and feels like the members of these departments are supposed to feel grateful. In less that 5 hours time he is back to bashing. In fact, he praised and bashed in the same comment:

Bottom line is, they're trying to get me to say something because they know people were screwing up left and right last night. There was an accident at the same time of this fire and I'll leave it at that. All that being said, the Fire Fighters did everything they could to put out a horrible fire. Kudos!

I don't know about you, but I respect anyone who puts themselves in harms way in order to help someone else. This includes all members of all public service departments. They are more than welcome to correct me if I am wrong, but the career fire fighters don't do this for the money (not around here anyway). They have chosen this profession because the satisfaction they get from helping others is more compensation than their paycheck. The volunteers spend a great deal of time away from their families to help save lives and property. Then, people have the audacity to bitch about the retirement fund they are allowed. The police officers serving our area are not in it to get rich either. They do it because they want to keep our families safe. And people complain because they were not in the right place at the right time to catch vehicle vandals. All of these men and women have made a commitment to serve. And they are doing it. So, until the rest of you have walked in their shoes, or at least taken time to find out what their shoe size is...shut the hell up!

Sink, Sank, Sunk

Maybe the bilge pump did fail. But, when I see a boat under water, I say it sunk.

Salisbury's Fire Boat

Remember that new fire boat the Joe didn't think Salisbury should have? It was rarely used, he said, and only for the dive team. The boat sunk again last night. It will have to be pulled up, dried out and the motor serviced. I certainly wouldn't want to be a member of the dive team and have this happen. In addition, Salisbury is Maryland's second largest commercial port. We have a number of businesses based along the Wicomico River that may need assistance from the SFD and its fire boat. I think it is deplorable that the second largest commercial port cannot be represented by more than this. Please notice in the pictures how small the boat is, especially the deck where the gun is located. There is not much room for working there. This is what our fire fighters have to work with. Joe believes this is satisfactory. It is apparent the boat needs to be replaced. It doesn't matter if one life is saved, or a building's destruction is reduced. It would well be worth it, don't you think?
